Academic writing

Writing an academic thesis is a crucial part of every degree programme. A thesis demonstrates a student's ability to independently explore a topic by correctly applying academic methods.

If you write an academic thesis, you have to use specialised terminology, select appropriate methods, etc. In addition, you have to adhere to study law and the rules of good academic practice as specified in the 2002 Universities Act, the study law-related section of the University of Vienna's Statutes and the University Gazette. Consequences will arise in the case of non-compliance.
