A society's expectations towards universities are subject to constant change. This means that universities have to assume ever-changing responsibilities that do not only include research and teaching but also other tasks of social relevance.

Language Resource Portal
The Austrian Language Resource Portal offers aids for transcultural communication in German and English. It consists of a glossary covering the Austrian administrative language, a so-called Sprach-Guide for communicating in English, a machine translation system and a collection of resources useful for translators and interpreters.
