Socio-Cognitive Translation Studies: Processes and Networks (socotrans)

The research group Socio-Cognitive Translation Studies: Processes and Networks focuses on the sociological and cognitive aspects of today's translation practice and examines how translators and other actors interact with each other and with technology in their (work) environment. Ethnographic methods of participant observation, qualitative interviews and artefact analyses are used to visualise current developments and challenges of the translation practice.

The team was formed in 2017. It is headed by Hanna Risku and also comprises the university assistants Jelena Milosevic, Regina Rogl and Daniela Schlager.
