During January 2023 a translator from the Romanian Translation Unit of the European Parliament Directorate-General for Translation (DG TRAD), Ms Sabina Tcaciuc, carried out two English into Romanian translation sessions with students enrolled in the ZTW BA and MA programmes. In addition to students, staff from the ZTW Romanian unit also took part. The online sessions provided a unique opportunity for the students to learn specific conventions of text types such as petitions and Parliamentary questions, as well as new multimedia projects, and work on authentic texts to provide Romanian translations under the efficient supervision of Ms Tcaciuc. It was also an opportunity for staff and students alike to learn more about new linguistic phenomena such as clear language and gender neutral language, as well as further linguistic services carried out by the unit and internship opportunities at the EP.
